C.I.D. Rajanna is a 1970 Indian Kannada-language film produced and directed by R. Ramamurthy, starring Rajkumar. The supporting cast includes Rajasree, Premalatha, Dinesh, Ranga, Dwarakish and K.S. Ashwath.

A newspaper editor gets murdered when he was about to expose the underworld links of a rich man. A C.I.D inspector gets assigned to investigate the murder.

C.I.D. Inspector Veer( Vinod Khanna) wages war against organized crime. His nemesis is Roshan Lala (Kiran Kumar) the overlord of the drug and gold smuggling racket in India. So dangerous a man Roshan is Roshan Lala that no witness has ever dared to come forward to give evidence against him in court. Frustrated by the lack of evidence and witness needed to convict Roshan Lala, Inspector Veer manages to infiltrate a young undercover officer Raksha (Juhi Chawla) into Roshan Lala's organization. However she is soon discovered to a Police officer and ruthless shot down by Roshan in a deserted street. Fatefully, this murder is witness by Mr. & Mrs. Saxena a respectable middle aged couple whose only daughter Meghna is engaged to be married to Inspector Veer. Is Roshan Lala successful in his design? Does Inspector Veer convict Roshan Lala or does he lose his beloved forever?

The film is set in the Nelakondapalli village of khammam district in Nizam Princely State of Hyderabad of the late 1940s. The feudal society is under the vice-like grip of an aristocratic family and its head, a Dorasani (Shwetha Menon). Mallamma (Baby Annie) is the darling of the village, who is living in perpetual humiliation. They seek solace in her songs. Brought up by Sambayya, an old man, she develops a mysterious attachment to a basil tree which is regarded as holy by the entire village.

In Nelakondapalli village, Adilabad district, Mallamma (Annie) is a girl who is a very talented singer. She is taken care of by an elderly man in her village. On one occasion, the elderly man and Mallamma visit the house of the Dorasani (Shwetha Menon) to seek her permission for Mallamma's education. Dorasani hears Mallamma's song there and gets very angry as her own daughter can't sing. She bans Mallamma's song and threatens her with death. When Mallamma accidentally sings again, her house is burnt and the elderly man is killed. Mallamma is saved by the music master (Nasser). When Mallamma comes to know that only Jawaharlal Nehru in New Delhi can save her, she sets out to Delhi on a lonely journey. When she is attacked in Delhi by Dorasani's men, she loses hope and wants to end her life. The story of Rajanna (Nagarjuna ) is then revealed to her by the music master. She is inspired by the heroic deeds of Rajanna and she goes about facing her difficulties. How does she do it?

A wealthy Indian scientist known as Professor has developed a nuclear project to bring about peace in the world. He has encrypted this project in code words known only to him and his daughter, Reshma. Then Wong abducts his wife, Paro, and blackmails the professor. The Professor is ready to turn over the project to Wong, when Wasco abducts Reshma and holds her for ransom in exchange for the same project. C.I.D. Agent Raju steps in and rescues Reshma and both fall in love with each other. But their problems are far from over as Reshma gets abducted again - this time by both Wong and Wasco. Raju search for Reshma lands him in a dungeon - paving the way for the criminals to force the professor to handover the project as well as the solution to the secret code to them.
